For Sale
I am a collector, not a dealer, but like all collectors I will occasionally have surplus items to sell or trade. Any such surplus items will be listed here and are for sale or trade. I will be interested in accepting U-Boat related material in trade for any of the items listed for sale here. I will also consider trading any pieces listed here for items related to the Feldgendarmerie (Military Police) and related organisations 1939-45.

Marine Artillery Badge
A fine example by probably the rarest of the manufacturers for this particular badge, Funcke & Bruninghaus, A gooddegree of the gilding remains to the oberse. The reverse has a good quality block hinge and wide tapering pin. The manufacturers LDO code L/56 is in relief to the centre of the reverse face.
£225
Destroyer War Badge
This L/15 marked badge by Otto Schickle of Pforzheim is one of the rarest Kriegsmarine War Badges. The LDO code L/15 was issued to the firm in the Spring of 1941 and the firm went out of business in July 1941, therefore this type of badge was only produced for a few months. It is believed the Schickle tooling was subsequently sold to the firm of B H Mayer who used it to manufacture their own version of the badge. This is the only L/15 Destroyer badge I have encountered in over 40 years. In very good condition with mucxh of the original finish remaining.
This actual badge will be featured in a forthcoming Bender book on Kriegsmarine War Badges.
£455
Auxiliary Cruiser Badge
A fine worn example of this desirable badge, in Tombak, and m,aker marked to Schwerin of Berlin. The obverse bears much of the original matt firegilded finish. Unfortunately the retaining clip on the reverse has been repaired but the repair is a wartime one, not modern.
Undamaged examples of this much sought after Schwerin badge now regularly fetch over £1000.
In view of the repair, this piece is offered at £425
Blockade Breaker Badge
A rare example of this badge by B H Mayer with variant pin system. Although not maker marked the badge has identical die characteristics to the more commom Mayer made variant and the only maker marked badge this pin system has so far been noted on is an L/18 marked piece by Mayer. Very rare maker for this badge. This badge will be featured in a fothcoming book on Kriegsmarine War Badges by Bender Publishing.
It appears the retaining clip may have been repaired, or at least reinforced at some point so priced accordingly at £200.
Imperial U-Boat Miniature
An exceptionally fine example of the 16mm size lapel stickpin for the Imperial UßBoat Badge. In excellent condition and rare.
£70
Miniature German Cross in Gold
A very nice example of the lapel stickpin version of the DK in Gold, multi-piece construction with central rivet on the reverse. Early quality, unlike the usual Zinc late war versions that are more commonly seen.
Very keenly priced at £200
Ribbon for Kindermütze
Here is a rare and interesting ribbon for the childs version of the sailors cap (ribbons were also worn sewn along the lower edge of the childrens version of the Bordmütze).
The reformation of Germany's U-Boat force was heralded with much publicity as was the launching of the new battleships such as Scharnhorst and Gneisenau. Childrens version of naval uniforms were available for patriotic families tro deck their kiddies out in, complete with caps bearing the new ships names.
Here is the ribbon for the newly created Unterseebootsflotille Weddigen, specially made for the childrens cap. Full length and very good condition.
£85
Kriegsmarine Matrosenmütze
An absolutely textbook example. Removable top lined in black with white stores stamp. The band has the correct celluloid stiffener. Exterior and interior in good undamaged condition.
With rare full length ribbon "U-Bootsbegleitschiff Saar"Check around the main dealers and you will find prices from 685 Euro for one with a common "Kriegsmarine" ribbon up to 900 Euro and over with named ribbons.
This one with rare U-Boat related ribbon - £550
(This is the actual cap illustrated on Page 63 of "Torpedo Los)
Bundesmarine Matrosenmütze
Rare early issue dated 1961 with blue top. White top BM caps are dime a dozen but early blue tops are very hard to find.
Excellent condition and with rare ribbon "Unterseeboot Hecht" in Gothic Script.Hecht was a wartime Type XXIII which was raised and put back into service with the new Bundesmarine.
